THE FIRST HEARTLESS MAN IN THE WORLD

  • Meet the world's first HEARTLESS man who is able to live without a pulse

Billy Cohn & Bud Frazier, two visionary doctors from the Texas Heart Institute, who in March of 2011 successfully replaced a dying man's heart with a 'continuous flow' device they developed, proving that life was possible without a pulse or a heart beat.

In March of last year, Craig Lewis, 55, was dying from a heart condition that caused build-ups of abnormal proteins, and not even a pacemaker could help save his life. But two doctors from the Texas Heart Institute proposed a revolutionary new solution – install a ‘continuous flow’ device that would allow blood to circulate his body without a pulse.Dr Billy Cohn and Dr Bud Frazier installed the device after removing Mr Lewis’ heart. Within a day, the patient was up and speaking with physicians.
In March of last year, Texas Heart Institute president Dr James T. Willerson called it ‘medical history in the making.’The first artificial human heart prototype was successfully implanted in 1969 by Dr Denton Cooley.

MAAJABU: MAITI HUFUKULIWA NA KUBADILISHWA NGUO.

  • Ni huko kisiwani SULAWESI, Indonesia.
  • Zoezi hili hufanyika kila mwaka.
Image

LETS JOIN HANDS TO FIGHT WOMEN VIOLENCE

  • “WE believe that a world without domestic abuse is not just a dream, it is a possibility. Never doubt it – changing attitudes changes lives.”  - Jane Devine
The 16 Days of Activism is an international campaign originating from the first Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991. The 16 Days of Activism will run through to International Human Rights Day on December 10. It brings together UNHCR, partners, persons of concern and host communities worldwide in a united call to end sexual and gender-based violence in all its forms.

For years now, women have been victims on hands of men politically, socially, economically, in education, legal and even religions. We should work together men and women, black people and white people, sisters and brothers; all together fight women violence.

These are some of problems facing African women;
  1. Women circumcision
  2. Rape.
  3. Widow inheritance.
  4. Early/ forced marriages.
  5. Sexual harassment leading to early pregnancy or/and spread of HIV to mention the few
The right of women to live free of violence and inequities is a human right. And it shouldn’t be bound by culture and by norms that rule society that are unjust.

Empowering women would help end the violence. That begins with girls through education and an awareness of their rights. Gender equality must be promoted as well.

Sixteen-year-old Pakistani campaigner Malala Yousafzai has received the EU’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.
Campaigning for girls’ education rights in her native Pakistan, Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban in October 2012.She has continued her activism since undergoing life-saving surgery in the UK.

Reveal secrets to be happy always

Do you know those people who always seem to be happy?

Even faced with challenges or adversity, there are certain people who seem to maintain their joyful state and love for life, no matter what.

It turns out that joyful people tend to have a few habits that help them to get the most out of life and keep them looking on the bright side…

So if you want to infuse more happiness into your life right now, keep these 10 habits in mind :)

Habit #1: Appreciate life ~ Develop an attitude of gratitude and count your blessings! When you start looking for things to be thankful for, you'll discover more reasons to be grateful.

Habit #2: Keep learning ~ Invest time and energy into continually learning and developing new skills. Keep your brain stimulated with exciting information and hobbies.

Habit #3: Do what you love ~ This may seem obvious, but a majority of people dislike their job! Choose a career that you enjoy and make time in your schedule for your hobbies and to pursue special interests.

Habit #4: Laughter - Don't take life too seriously! Laugh at yourself, make light of your circumstances and infuse fun into daily activities.

Habit #5: Forgiveness - Holding onto anger, resentment or jealousy will only hurt you. Learn to forgive others & yourself for mistakes. Let it go and move on.

Habit #6: Meditation ~ More and more research is showing that meditation has major benefits on health and well-being. It increases positive emotions, life satisfaction and immune function.

Habit #7: Love ~ Nurture your relationships with friends & family and make it a priority to spend time with and to support your loved ones.

Habit #8: Stop comparing ~ Happy people don't waste their time worrying about what other people think, or with gossiping. Let go of the need to judge or criticize. Instead concentrate on creating and living YOUR best life.

Habit #9: Be positive! ~ Make an effort to see the glass half full and always look for the silver lining in any situation. If you notice a negative thought creeping into your mind, counteract it with a powerful, positive affirmation.

Habit #10: Surround yourself with those who take you higher ~ Surround yourself with happy, positive people who truly want the best for you and support you on your journey to success.

The more you incorporate these 10 habits into your daily life, the happier you'll be.
