TREES, OUR LIVES AND OUR BEST FRIEND

  • Tree Farming
  • Where do oldest and largest things found in the world?
  • What are the importance of trees?
Tree is the largest of all plants which continue to grow as long as they live.
People do not think of trees the way they think of other plants most of which grow only a short time and then die. They think of trees as permanent parts of the landscape. Year after year trees provide shades to houses and streets from the sun hence we should change and have positive attitudes and plans towards trees for our generations.

USES OF TREES

Wood products :  Each year loggers cut down millions of trees from different forests to Sawmills. Sawmills cut these logs into lumbers, which manufactures use for construction works, paper making, furniture, alcohol and plastics are as well products from trees.

Food Production : People throughout the world eat fruits such as avocados, oranges, mangoes, grapes, apples, cherries and peaches. Also nut tree (coconut palm) produces coconuts. Trees`also supply chocolate, coffee, maple syrup, olives, spices such as cinnamon and cloves.

Other tree products : The tree produces Latex, a milky fluid used to make natural rubber. Pine trees produce sticky resin used in making turpentine. The bark of oak and some other trees contains a compound called tannic acid which is used by tanning industries to change animal hides into lather. Some tree products are used as medicines for instance the bark of the cinchona tree contains quinine which doctors use to treat malaria and other diseases.

Who denies?
The World is the best place to live especially when trees are all over around us.

Trees in conservation : Trees help to conserve soil and water, in open country trees act as windbreaks and keep the wind from blowing the topsoil. Tree roots store water in the ground but also prevent soil from being washed away. In mountain regions, forests prevent erosion and provide shelter for wildlife and recreation areas for vacationists.
The most important role of trees is balancing of gases (Oxygen and Carbondioxide) in the atmosphere which is the necessary process for our lives.

 TREE FARMING

A tree farm is a privately owned area used to grow forest crops for profit. The owner must show that the timber will be grown and harvested in such a way that crops can also be grown on the land in the future, protect from diseases, fire, excessive grazing and other damage.

Note: Among the oldest and largest trees of thousands of years and over 200feet (61meters) tall are in California.
