They thought that in order to be around for their family they needed to make a lifestyle change–and it was important to make that change together as a married couple. To date, the couple has lost over 500 pounds. Willie lost over 300 lbs and Angela lost over 200 lbs. The fit couple sat down with us to share how they changed their life to literally beat fat
One of the first steps to their weight loss was walking on the treadmill. Willie liked to watch TV, so every day no matter what, he walked on the treadmill for at least 45 minutes. After just one week of being on the treadmill, Willie lost an amazing 11lbs. Upon seeing his progress, he said to himself, “I can do this. Let me keep going.”
Angela was losing 4-5lbs per week, but then got bored of just being on the treadmill. She then enrolled in the local gym and signed up for a variety of classes including aerobics, cycling, etc. Willie could not cook at all, so it all worked out: Angela would do the nutrition and he would create the exercise. They worked well as a team.
“Having a partner makes it a lot easier, because you don’t want to disappoint your partner. My weight loss partner was also my partner in life. I couldn’t disappoint her.
Angela ran 14 half marathons and one full marathon in ONE year. Willie did four half marathons one year and looks forward to his first marathon this year.
